GoDaddy.com – Purchase Domains and Host Websites
GoDaddy has become extremely popular from their famous Super Bowl commercials. If you want to buy domains your best bet may be GoDaddy, as they offer extremely competitive prices on all types of domains (.com, .net, .org. .ca, etc). After you purchase your domain name you can host your website at GoDaddy.com if you choose to as well. Their hosting prices are pretty good too. Customer support is one of the main reasons I’ve kept my 70+ domains at GoDaddy since I started running websites – if you have any troubles you can just pick up the phone and give them a call and talk to a real person within a few minutes. Thesis WordPress Theme – WordPress Theme To Create Website
I’ve just started to use Thesis after many people recommended it to me. I will update this section as I get more used to it and can let you know the pro’s and con’s of the theme. I can tell you though that it is one of the, if not the, most popular wordpress themes out there. It is great for SEO and looks good too. It took me about 30-60 minutes to figure out some stuff, but I already have learned how to create a nice looking and simple website template. SEOmoz – Track your SEO efforts
SEOmoz is a SEO software that allows you to track your website’s SEO efforts. For example you can set it up to track a number of different keywords that you are trying to rank for, and the software will watch the SERPs and let you know where you rank each week. This will allow you to see what is working with your SEO efforts, and free up your time as you won’t have to be checking your rankings everyday. You can also check your on-page SEO scores for a variety of different keywords, and the software will tell you what you are doing right and what you need to fix to rank higher. You can compare your site to competitors that rank higher than you, and much more. Sucuri.net – Security For Your Websites
I’ve had my websites hacked on 3 different occasions so I know how valuable of a tool this will be to my business. Sucuri monitors your websites to let you know if you’ve been hacked and have had malware placed in your website code. They will not only monitor your websites, but if you do indeed get infected they will remove the malware from your site within hours. Aweber.com - Email Marketing Service
If you are running any type of website you need to sign up for an account at Aweber and start your email marketing today. When you read interviews from successful internet marketers you will often see one thing they wish they could go back and change would be starting email marketing earlier. Aweber is giving a $1 trial to new customers, and after that it is about $19 per month. $19 per month is nothing compared to the amount you will start making a few months down the road with the list you’ve built up. Popup Domination – Newsletter Capture Tool
This is almost a must have or at least “must try” for anyone doing email marketing. One of the easiest ways to increase your sign up conversion rate for email forms is to have a nice looking form. These popup domination forms are easy to install and look 10x nicer then generic aweber forms. Clickbank.com – Sell Your Own Product/Service Online
If you are looking to sell your own product (ebook, training course, membership site) or services look no further than Clickbank. They will take care of processing credit cards or paypal payments for you, and will send you your payment checks every two weeks. I have about 5 different products and services listed at Clickbank, and have been receiving payments in the mail from them for over a year now. Snagit – Screen Capture Tool
This program is awesome for screen captures and edits. It allows you to scroll and capture more than your screen actually sees. And after each screen capture it will bring it into the “photoshop like” editor, where you can easily do quick edits to the image to make it a lot nicer. The images on this page have been edited using Snagit and each image only took about 30 seconds from taking the screenshot to editing the size adding the faded border and posting it up. Solid for any webmaster.
Camtasia (PC) or ScreenFlow (MAC) – Screen Recording and Video Editing Tool
It is no secret that everyone loves to watch video, and these tools are perfect for that. They allow you to capture your screen in a video so that you can make tutorials, slideshow presentations, video sales pages, videos of the membership section of your site, or anything else you can think of. After you create or upload videos you can also edit it within the software. You can add some cool “callouts” to highlight, circle or point to places you want viewers focused and they have an awesome zoom feature I use a lot during my screen recordings.
EasyVideoPlayer – Host Videos on Your Site
Use EasyVideoPlayer to host your videos on your site. You can do some awesome stuff that you can’t do on Youtube or Vimeo including adding clickable buttons within your videos and re-directing users to a new URL after watching the video. You can also include facebook “like” buttons and other sharing buttons, watermarks and any images. It tracks analytics, has video heatmaps, and allows you to easily split test.
