At my old blog I posted my 2011 Affiliate Goals on January 2nd of this year. In this post I’m just going to recap my year/goals before I move on to making my goals for 2012.
No New Sites – I did a solid job with this. As far as I remember I only started 2 new sites. One I pretty much had to start because I needed somewhere to blog my personal NFL picks weekly. The second was a stupid decision to start a bingo site because I thought I found an untapped niche – bad idea, site makes no money and cost me money and time. I’ll have to link out to some of my sites from it to make it worthwhile. But overall going from starting like 5-10 per year down to 2 is good, and I’ve been really focusing on just a few of my main sites (selling others as I type this too).
Become Authority With NHL and MLB Sites – Check. I get good traffic to both sites, and have been making money with both. Handicapping NHL, MLB and NFL has become one of my passions, and I’m making money sharing my picks/insights with others. I put a lot of time into these sites, so I am glad I make some money from it now too.
Establish Workout Blog – Kind of a fail here. I got away from this, although I did build some links to the site and have some pretty good traffic. I focused more on my supplement site instead this past year, but I think I will try to start blogging at WorkoutTipster.com throughout 2012. I have goals of selling fitness products in 2012 and these two sites can help drive traffic.
Monetize Affiliate Blog – I think I only made a few bucks here this year. Again this isn’t too important to me, but if I spend time blogging here I might as well try and make some money. This year I’ll have to do a better job recommending some products I like.
$200k Net Revenue – I won’t really know this until I calculate expenses, but I am hovering around this mark and am pretty happy of where I am near the end of 2011. I’ll be looking to near double this in 2012 – time to buckle down even more.
Personal Goals – I stayed in the gym for the most part of the year, but have gotten away from eating healthy lately. I’m getting back into it here in December though and will continue through until the spring. I didn’t donate to a charity every single month, but I have been donating to various charities throughout 2011 and look to continue that in 2012. I travelled in 2011 (Mexico, Florida, Las Vegas) and had a lot of fun. Also built my first house, and got a puppy! All in all a solid year.
I hope anyone reading had a solid year as well – if not keep your head up and keep working hard. I will be back with a 2012 goals post either before Christmas or just after New Years.
